Mangrove is an open workspace, learning annex, and cultural development center that supports local Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) creative producers, makers, workers, and entrepreneurs.

Launch a business or career in food, design, craft, or body care. Hone your skills, learn new practices, and make connections. Share your talent and ideas with people in your community.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is for entrepreneurs and business owners in food or design. Members have access to workspaces and all the resources Mangrove has to offer.

  • Kitchen Membership allows flexible hourly booking of our state-of-the-art commissary kitchen as well as access to our online supply chain/business network, the Mangrove digital resource library, and our business support and technical service programs.
  • Design Lab Membership provides access to a host of studio equipment as well as a weekly schedule of courses, creative events, and a host of online resources and network opportunities.
Mangrove Business Academy

This 12-week course offers hands-on training in business planning and management:

  • Teaches business fundamentals like budgeting, marketing, bookkeeping and financing
  • Weekly in person group classes complemented by independent homework sessions
  • Offered in the Spring and Fall
Shared Kitchen Membership

Mangrove Shared Kitchen Membership provides access to our 1000sqft commercial kitchen which features 7 shared workstations for both hot and cold production. Kitchen Membership also gives you access to our online business resources, classes, and events calendar as well as hands on business mentorship and supply chain support.

New members are subject to $150 onboarding fee 

40-Hour Membership 
  • Flexible booking at $25/hourfor hot stations and $15/hour for cold stations for a flat rate of $1,000/month  
  • Free access to our online supply chain/business network, digital resource library, and business support and technical service programs 
  • For an additional fee, cold and/or dry storage available 

New members are subject to $150 onboarding fee 

Subsidized rates are available for local residents in zip code 11226 and for NYCHA residents in any zip code. 

Mangrove Design Studio

Mangrove Design Studio Workshop is a versatile space with three sewing stations, two video/audio editing suites, a podcast and audio recording studio, a media production equipment library, fabrication equipment, and printing equipment for textiles and paper products.

  • Consultation on business development and branding  
  • Services like brand or packaging design and printing 
Monthly Membership:

Unlimited workshop access for $150/month  

Access includes:

  • Trainings and short courses (subjects include branding, 3D design, learning to sew or print, design thinking, etc.)

  • Consultations on business development and branding

PUBLIC EVENTS + WORKSHOPS

Mangrove hosts a wide range of public events centered around food, design, culture, and craft. Workshops and classes on sewing, podcasting, graphics, and more are featured at Mangrove regularly to share knowledge and build skills.
